Magnus "fox" Olsson beat Karl "fooKi" Johansson in the DreamHack Quake 3 tournament final. The new school of players were shown their place in line. The event in Jonkoping showed the balance of power in Swedish Quake 3 nowadays. The players that were on top four years ago are still there. Although there are new names out there that play a high quality game of Q3, they look like they still need to learn a thing or two to get to the top.
Quite unsurprisingly, the winner of the tournament was Magnus 'fox' Olsson. He beat SK Gaming's Karl 'fooKi' Johansson in the upper bracket final and the overall final of the tournament.
FooKi's main aim at this event was to practice and see where he stands in terms of gameplay. The Swedish player has had a very long break from competitive gaming and had a very respectable showing for a comeback. In the tournament he beat the new schoolers Sebastian 'Spart1e1' Siira and Andreas 'ArrW' Ihrfors very convincingly.
The tournament was a qualifier for the ESWC Grand Final in San Jose. We will see fox and fooKi represent Sweden at the event in August.
