A crazy WC3L finals event came to an end as Meet Your Makers spoiled Mousesports' Cinderella story in the grand final. The finals of the thirteenth season of the WC3L were turned upside down by Mousesports, the lucky runners up that won the upper bracket and gave in to Meet Your Makers 3-2 and 3-2 in the overall final.
Mousesports did not even qualify for the WC3L finals and got in through the back door. If it wasn't for BeT dissolving their team and Wicked, the next team in line, doing likewise, Mouz would have watched the finals on ESL TV. The fact that Kim 'SaSe' Hammar's contract was not renewed before the WC3L was not a reason to wager on Mouz doing anything in the tournament. But the team played the part of the underdog brilliantly, in fact they looked more like a favourite.
The Cinderella story started with a 3-2 victory over World Elite and continued as MYM was sent to the lower bracket. Those results spelled disaster for WE who met SK Gaming in the lower bracket and exited the tournament the earliest. After winning the Road of the King tournament they probably had appetites for something bigger.
SK Gaming could not go home exhilarated either, as the title defenders had to settle for a bronze this time around, losing to MYM twice in the competition. MYM, on the other hand, has had a splendid tournament and won it deservedly. The Manuel 'Grubby' Schenkhuizen and Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang duo put the icing on the cake for the Danish organisatoin beating Weiliang 'Fly' Lu and Jiankai 'Yumiko' Yu 2-0 in the deciding game.
This is MYM's second WC3L title and Grubby's first outside of Four Kings. Interestingly, no other WC3 team than still exists has got more WC3L titles won on LAN than MYM (SK Gaming won two seasons online and one on LAN).
Final standings:
1) Meet Your Makers - €7,500
2) Mousesports - €5,500
3) SK Gaming - €4,000
4) World Elite - €3,000

"We lose the game, although we tried our best. I kept telling myself that the most important thing is that whether we had a good game, not the failure itself. But you know, some of the game isn't good today. Everyone in our team did a good job in the WC3L final although we are just the 6th in the regular season. Moon did a good job too, but something unhappy happened.
I've been enjoyed Grubby's game for a long time. I grown up with his and xiao T's rep. I can still remember the excitement when I saw him face by face for the first time. Recently, something changed. The game on AV (the first 2v2 of the 2nd 3:2, the total score was 2:2 at that time. FROM ME NOT FLY) interrupted because of the LAN problem. We both saved the game and was waiting for the resume. It is not expected that Grubby used this short period to watch the rep before the interruption and was discovered by our manager Lei(or Lie?). Lei went to the judge to complain, and Grubby argued that he just watched for only 2-3 mins. The judge decided not to punish him because of his arguement.
Then we lost the 2nd game on LT. Lei let us know about this after the whole game ended, so luckily it didn't affect our moods. Honestly speaking, they are really strong with 2v2, really strong. I just cannot reconcile to this kind of game. They can win, but they should do like a man.
...(Then Fly told us something about the magic card in ROTK, but without any details. As I know nothing about it, it's hard for me to understand and to translate. All he wanted to say is that he and his teammates are responsible for the loss in the ROTK although Grubby also did something inproper. Then let's continue with wat he said...) Although he is still better than me, Grubby is no longer my idol. He is becoming far away from that.
Whatever, I'm just complaining. I don't want to accuse anyone or find excuse for myself. It's depressive to keep everything in mind. Last, I don't want to make anyone unhappy.
even SK didn't mention something like this on their WC3 News
funny
One thing tho, MYM acted as a whole team, not mentioning the issue with Grubby. So, people, show respect to skill, not to Grubby(which loses mine and everybody else`s here), but to the team. Impressive performance, and gg to all the teams.
