Meet Your Makers got off a flying start in the WC3L Season XIII Finals as they disposed of SK Gaming with a 3-0 win. The title holders later on redeemed themselves after a 3-1 defeat of World Elite in the lower bracket final.Perfect start for the devils
Two legends Manuel 'Grubby' Schenkhuizen and Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang who recently showed signs of returning to his peak shape in the PGL Season III, gave their team a 2-0 lead after defeating two best players of SK Gaming, June 'Lyn' Park and Seong Deok 'SoJu' Lee, respectively. Though the third game between Sung Sik 'ReMinD' Kim and Jung Ki 'Susiria' Oh came to an abrupt end as the power in the stadium went off, the holders admitted their loss to the rivals.
SK Gaming salvation
Although they lightened it, SK Gaming did not lose the grip on the trophy and avoided a premature and disappointing exit from the Finals in the lower bracket final. Seo Woo 'ReiGn' Kang helped SK set the pace as his brilliant performance not only amazed the newly crowned PGL Season III champion Xiang 'TH000' Huang, who was one of the shoutcasters today, but also the KODE5 champion Xuwen 'InFi' Wang. Remind and Lyn later on defeated Kejing 'Like' Li and Zhuo 'TeD' Zeng with the same 2-0 wins and steered SK Gaming into consolation final.
World Elite disappointed
World Elite were among the favourites in the Finals thanks to their players’ magnificent run in the past month. However, the pressure of lifting the trophy on home soil on their shoulders seems too much for the Chinese to cope with. They failed to turn a 2-0 lead over Mousesports to a win and saw the German team pull off a 3-2 comeback in the opener. Their former team-mates, who are now playing for SK Gaming, showed the home side door in the tournament.
