ImageAnother major qualification for ESWC 2008. The Korean Qualification approaches as its first pre-qualification will kick off on June 18.

ESWC Korea will be hosting tournaments for Counter-Strike 1.6 and Warcraft III this year. Registration was opened on June 5 and will be closed at 16:00 KST on June 15. Accepted amateurs will start off their campaign from the online pre-qualification, whilst the professionals will directly participate in the offline pre-qualification.

The online pre-qualification will last for two days from June 18 to 19. Top eight finishers at the end of this stage will join the professionals in the offline pre-qualification in e-stadium on June 22. These players will go through single elimination playoffs and top four finishers will advance to the finals, which will be held in e-Star festival on July 20. ESWC Korea will send the top two finalists to ESWC2008 Finals in San Jose, USA.

Seong Deok 'SoJu' Lee and June 'Lyn' Park stayed on top of ESWC Korea Finals and became the only two Korean representatives at the Global Finals last year. SoJu was granted a berth to the Finals as defending champion earlier this year while Lyn was invited to the ESWC Masters in Paris, France next month. Finishing in top three there will ensure the SK Gaming player a place in the Finals.
