The Russian ESWC qualifier has ended with four teams being given a ticket to San Jose. Virtus.Pro haven't took part in the tournament. The tournament was held exactly in the same place as KODE5 Global Finals, the "Tishinka" trade center building.
Fifteen teams from all the regions of Russia, the respectful winners of their regions' qualifiers participated in the group stage, wherefrom eight teams - 88-Gaming , tp.uSports (former tp.uSports), EYESports , forZe , WeAreAlive, NN_Style, GoodManagement and imba advanced to the playoff stage.
The favorite teams haven't met each other before the semifinals, in which ProPlay.ru outplayed forZe on three maps and was the first team to receive the ESWC slot.
EYESports got the final slot harder, but still won it over NN_Style also on three maps.
In the final match, the boys from EYESports were able to defeat ProPlay.ru and win the payed ticket to ESWC Grand Final in San Jose.
The female Counter-Strike tournament had no surprises, the long time favorite girls from forZe.female rolled over all their opponents (the only teams who could make them nervous were sunrise and shara.bros) and got the ticket to grand final. Shara.bros finished second to receive the non-payed ticket.
Nina 'Greeny_R' Omelchenko is self-confident and calm:
"We are very glad to represent Russia for the fourth time straight. The level of female gaming raised comparing to the last year and this is a great success. We thank 4game and forZe clubs for their support"
Virtus.Pro couldn't attend ESWC Russia, as they, with the addition of Mykhailo 'Kane' Blagin became a Ukrainian team. They will try to qualify through ESWC Ukraine on the 21st of June.
