Favourites of Group B, clanless Dae Hui “FoV” Cho and Yoan “ToD” Merlo of Mousesports stormed their way to the Revival stage whilst Nan “ForDream” Xie shone in the third day of PGL Season III.Losing to Group C in the consolation final of the Team battle stage, none of the Group B players were able to share the same pleasure as June 'Lyn' Park and Xiaofeng 'Sky' Li, who qualified for the Knockout stage earlier today, claiming the top two places and thus avoiding elimination.
An encounter between the former team-mates and close friends was inevitable in the first place, FoV and ToD both capitalised on the inexperience of their respective opponents and advanced to June 8 and 9’s Revival stage together.
On the other hand, ForDream, surprised the scene after defeating FoCuS with a solid performance and was at one point leading 1-0 against FoV in the upper bracket final.
The Chinese starlet did not win a single map over the past two days during Team battle stage and many reckoned he was the man to be forgotten and would not win a single match, but he then proved the critics wrong.
The Level99 player controlled his talons well when Hyo Sub 'FoCuS' Eom decided to engage him in both games and his hard work on practicing on the new maps paid off as the mercenaries he hired played a pivotal role in his victories.
However, he also paid for his inexperience in both games against FoV and ToD and was forced to the bench to watch amongst the audience. The 21-year-old has definitely what it takes to pursue his dream in the future, to become one of the greatest.
PGL will move on to the fourth day tomorrow with matches from upper Group C and lower Group A. Matchups will be announced when the tournament starts at 07:00 CET.
