The winners of the DreamHack Summer Qualifiers are directly qualified for the bracket and also will also get paid the entry and travel fee to the event. With several unknown teams attending except for mTw.dk and the newly formed mates consisting of Nuggi, Friis, karrigan, nexiz and bardi the favorite was pretty clear.

After winning the KODE5 Global Final in early May mTw were clearly the favorite to win this qualifier. They easily passed the groupstage not losing a single match but so did mates. Both teams also didn't have much problems in the brackets and were now facing each other in the Grand Final.

Surprisingly the Grand Final was Best-of-One, meaning you only need one map to win the tournament. The Final map was de_nuke and mTw choose to start as Counter-Terrorist after winning the knife-round which mostly favors the team starting as CT.

Still mates managed to get eight rounds in the first half and had a good feeling starting the second half. Winning the remaining nine rounds wasn't an easy won but they made it and beat mTw with a total score of 16 to 13. Mates therefore won the overall tournament and is invited to the DreamHack Summer in June.
