WCG Germany without Germany's best team?

ImageAfter being the only country to send a mix-team for Germany last year, another scandal is about to happen. It looks like both of Germany's top teams cannot attend the National Qualifier due to the ESWC Grand Final but also the WCG Rules.

The German community still remembers the announcement of last year's World Cyber Games team for where the WCG Germany decided to send a National Team being a mix-team consisting of players from Team Alternate and mousesports.

This time another shocking announcement is made, saying that probably both mousesports and Team Alternate won't be able to attend the national qualifier for the WCG. The national qualifier is being held at the Games Convention in Leizpig as well as the ESWC Grand Final in San Jose is starting shortly after the Games Convention.

But a WCG Rule says you have to be part of the Award Ceremony which is also the nomination for the World Cyber Games. Being qualified for the ESWC Grand Final both teams would have to leave too early and could not be present at the ceremony and nomination.

Mousesports manager Cengiz 'django' Tuylu already gave a statement to readmore.de saying that recommends having a National Qualifier instead of a National Team but it also wouldn't matter too much for mousesports. Mousesports would have to play with two stand-ins since both Franz 'gore' Burghardt and Fatih 'gob b' Dayik do not own the German citizenship.

Team Alternate did not give a statement yet but as the WCG Germany already said, they won't be able to change the date of the national qualifier due to contracts and the fact that it was announced months ago.

This is just another proof that the esport business still lacks of a way to coordinate their major events in order to gather all the top teams of the world without the problem of competing and even overlapping events and teams who have to decide which event to favour.

So the German community has to face a national WCG qualification without the chance for every team to compete.
