SK's Shane "rapha" Hendrixson has become the number one player in America after beating Brian "destrukt" Flander in the ESWC qualifier's grand final.Shane 'rapha' Hendrixson got quite a beating in his previous encounter with destrukt. Today, he proved that the upper bracket final of the qualifier was a fluke. The impatient and nervous player rushing his opponent unwisely turned into a winner whose every move was done purposefully and with confidence.
"This time I think I went into [the game] with a better mentality and focus," says rapha. "I was just focused on getting the job done any way I could. The first time around it didn't feel like me. Nothing felt right at all. I've been nervous before but this was totally different."
"It was something like a 'YES, PHEW' all rolled into one," the champion describes his post-match relief. "I was just glad I got a chance to redeem myself from that terrible performance against him about a week ago."
Rapha is now both qualified for the ESWC Masters of Paris and the ESWC Grand Final. His goal is to win both events: "There's a few things I need to fix in my game but I know what they are. So hopefully I'll be able to fix them in the coming weeks."
