Rapha is first SK player to qualify for ESWC Finals

ImageSK Gaming's Shane "rapha" Hendrixson became one of the first players in the world to have qualified for the ESWC 2008 Grand Final in San Jose.

The entire qualifier took place online. Although it is not over yet, we know which two players get the tickets to San Jose. Those are the upper bracket winner Brian "destrukt" Flander and rapha.

To get the ticket, rapha beat Chance "chance" Lacina in the lower bracket final. The maps were the same and the gameplay was similar to what we saw from both players in the upper bracket semi final. Rapha played a very strong HUB, but chance put up a good fight on pro-nodm9. In the end, it was still a fairly comfortable 2-0 for rapha.

The qualifier's final will be a formality in theory, but in practice it will be a rematch for the upper bracket final. In it, dkt showed rapha that he may still have a thing or two to learn, but rapha has admittedly played below his usual level. If the SK Gaming player wants to win major tournaments, he needs to beat everyone in his own back yard, so both players will have something to prove.

The game has been scheduled to 3:00am CET on Thursday. Make sure you follow it via GTV (instructions here). Don't forget to place your bets!
