The NGL-One match between PGS and mTw reached boiling point as PGS manager Jaco "LLoth" van Dijk was enraged after he believed the NGL broke their own rules.

According to the NGL rulebook, "If the player has played for a different clan in the league before, he is not allowed to play against clans he already faced with his former clan in the same season again."

The conflict spawned from one of the NGL-One admins permitting Winners to play for mTw despite having played against PGS with BeT earlier in the season. PGS manager LLoth's protests were to no avail and believes their line-up and roster strategy were put in danger following this decision.

NGL-One Head Admin Perdita was brought into the conflict and used his position to bend the rule due to the circumstances and stuck by his admin's decision as well as issuing PGS with two penalty points for their behaviour.

The incident in detail

"The admin in question misinterpreted this rule believing the fact Winners did not physically play versus PGS while in BeT meant he was still a legitimate choice for mTw."
Winners was in the roster for Beijing E-Sports Team when they played PGS earlier in the season, despite however BeT winning without him needing to play, this does still constitute him "playing".

According to Head Admin Perdita after the match was over, the admin in question misinterpreted this rule believing the fact Winners did not physically play versus PGS while in BeT meant he was still a legitimate choice for mTw.

Due to this error when asked by mTw manager rukie if Winners could play, the admin in question gave mTw the green light to use a player who according to their rules should not be allowed to play.

Baffled by the decision Lloth of PGS went straight to Perdita explaining that Winners was in the line-up versus his team in BeT and therefore should be not allowed to play to which Perdita replied "true he is not allowed to play".

However, according to Perdita this was said without prior knowledge of the situation and the fact that admin in question had given mTw permission to use Winners.

Deciding to stick by the decision of his admin Perdita therefore agreed for mTw to be able to play with Winners because their other player hanf was unable to play. The channel reached boiling point as members of both teams starting argueing and in the end mTw defeated PGS 4-2 without the need for Winners to play.

mTw's viewpoint

"Having confirmed Winners was allowed to play rukie prepared his line-up and only found out of the admin's error after the clan war had begun."
From the viewpoint of mTw, manager rukie was unsure of the rules regarding what constitute "playing" and therefore asked the admin in question if they were allowed to use Winners to which he replied yes.

Having confirmed Winners was allowed to play rukie prepare his line-up and only found out of the admins error after the clan war had begun.

In mTw's eyes this is a mistake of the admin and in order to not punish mTw for the mistake of the admin in question, Perdita essentially bent the rules and allowed Winners to play. For mTw there is no conflict as an admin confirmed their player was allowed to play and in the end the player in question was not used.

PGS's viewpoint

"LLoth: All our prework, strategies and carefully selected roster was put in danger after that decision"
From the viewpoint of PGS, the rules clearly state that Winners should in no way be allowed to play and therefore according to their manager LLoth, had formulated their roster assuming that mTw could only use Protois, hanf, check and rainbow.

"When we pointed out its stated different in the rules the NGL decided to ignore the rule and allow MTW to use Winners," said LLoth, "All our prework, strategies and carefully selected roster was in danger after that decision".

In the end Winners did not play because Check managed to defeat three PGS players Satiini, ShrieK and Liild.C however LLoth believed another course of action by the NGL admin would have been more appropriate. "I feel the match should have either been postponed and Hanf being the substitute for Winners," explains LLoth, "or a default loss for winners which would make the end score MTW 4-3 PGS."

In the eyes of PGS they feel they were treated unfairly, "the admins didn't felt like giving us any compensation," protests Lloth "and in the end I feel that we really got ignored by the admins who made a one sided decision."

The outcome

The NGL have already issued PGS with two penalty points, 1 penalty point for ignoring the non-disclosure and 1 penalty point for "lack of manners" following the end of the clan war.
