Some big names are missing from the latter stages of the competition with names like Meet Your Makers and Bangin' it Eurostyle being knocked out of the comeptition in the first and second rounds. Robin "ImpreZ" Mertz believes that MYM dropped from the comeptition early due to a busy schedule and lack of motivation to play online.

With some of the bigger names missing we get a chance to see some of the other talented teams in action. Reason Gaming's Jasdev "JUSZN" Virdee stated, "We feel pretty confident going into this match considering we're unbeaten with our new lineup." On the other hand, The Last Resort have made several changes to their roster lately and could well be ill prepared for their cup tie.

The second semi-finalists, Vivid Gaming and Sample This will meet in competition for the first time. Sample's Mertz told SK Gaming that he did not expect Vivid to make it so far in the competition and despite not knowing much about the team, Sample are confident that they will win.
