The CGS Pro-Am divisions will be launch in North America and Europe in August 2008 with players competing online on CGS game servers.
The top two finishers in both Counter-Strike 1.6 and Team Fortress2 will meet in a North American and European showdown at the North America Combine in 2009 for a total prize purse of "more than $50,000, plus additional prizes."
The CGS claims more games will be introduced in the future as well as more information surrounding the Pro-AM division, one thing is sure is that the registrations will commence in July 2008, so still some time yet.
It seems the CGS is trying to take steps to appease and attract the eSports masses, whether it will work or not is another matter entirely.

But still, nice :)
it deserves the support
Nice move though :)
Another good tourney for cs 1.6 and anawesome one for tf2.Well played.
RTS titles such as SC is easy to understand and entertaining for people that dont have to much to do with eSports. I wonder why the Koreans can get it done and us in the west still stick to FPS titles such as CS to be the flag ship for televised eSports... CS isn't the whole esports scene either, wich is bothering me...
I also think that RTS communities will be much more appreciated then CS community.... Although it's just my opinion and experience talking, since I've been following eSports as a whole for the past 10 years :)
But kinda tired that American based organizations never ad RTS games to their compitions...
The CGS have had to make a few changes to some of their titles to make it more TV oriented and I, quite frankly, don't have any interest in watching Starcraft or Warcraft with five minute timers and damage counters.
I'm glad the CGS shows no interest in RTS.
and nice for team fortress 2 too =]
This is just another try-out "to destroy" 1.6, putting the game down to pro-aim division, and to make it look like as a second game people are playing, and CS:S as the "number one". But they failed again, luls.
But TF2 was a good pick-up though. :) Great game, and its even better than CS:S ^^
I never said anything about destroying 1.6..
Of course this is a nice addition to the list of 1.6 tournaments :)
