A press release by the ESWC sponsor nVIDIA reveals the prize money aggregate. $250,000 in prizes is more than last year ($180,500) but less than in 2006 ($400,000) and 2005 ($266,000).
The event will take place on August 25-27, 2008 in San Jose, California at the NVISION 2008 trade show. It will feature tournaments for Quake 3, Warcraft 3, Counter-Strike 1.6 (male/open and female), DotA and Trackmania Nations.
