The Kode5 Global Finals are closing to an end as the first semi-final match between SK Gaming and mTw has just ended with the Danes coming out on top.

The first match against the WCG 2007 silver medallists was on Inferno. From the very beginning it seemed that the Danes are better in every aspect and no matter how hard SK tried they couldn't stop mTw's attack and breach their defences. Needless to say the map ended with a score of 16:5 and mTw were one step closer to the Finals.

But like all top teams do, SK didn't give the fight up yet and despite mTw finishing the CT side on Nuke with a large gap between the two teams, SK made a comeback and won the second map with a score of 16:14.

The third and final game was played on Train where the two teams battled out for their "rightfulness" to be in the Finals. The game was going even with a bit more mistakes from the SK team, which lead to their second loss in the tournament, match wise. The score for this game was 16:12 in favour of the Danes.

Danny "zonic" Sørensen gave a post-match comment:

"We started out on de-inferno and won with the score of 16:5. We knew how they played, because we have watched their demos on this map. We had the momentum going on de_nuke, but SK managed to come back and win us in a 16:14 breathetaker. We felt a bit sad on de_train, but we knew that we had to give everything to win this game. We lost the first part with the score of 7:8. We had to play our A rank game and be a little bit lucky to advance to the finals, so we did."

SK-Gaming will now be playing the loser of the fnatic.cs versus MeetYourMakers match for the third place.

The next match for mTw will be against the winner from the Fnatic vs. MYM match. More results can be found in our tournament coverage.
