Everything was almost settled for cArn & Co on de_nuke, when the first side score table showed 12 points for them and only three points for Virtus.Pro.
However, this turned out to be only the start of a long match. Virtus.pro slowly gained the advantage back, killing and attacking. Fnatic stood their ground and this turned out to be a draw.
Alexey "LeX" Kolesnikov of Virtus.pro gave a live comment:
"We played the opening match of KODE5 and we were up against currently the best team in the world - fnatic. We were not expecting a draw, we wanted to win that game. After losing the first side badly (where we messed many moments), we were able to get ourselves in one piece and fnatic a hard time. This draw gives us a moral bonus for our next games. Right now we're going to play Dignitas, and then our WCG 2007 rivals - team Evil Genius. The match against the Americans is going to be an interesting thing to watch for sure."
This somehow evens this group out, because before the game, other teams could hope for VP or fnatic to lose the match and the points, but now both teams gained points. It's going to be very hard for other teams in this group now.
