The Swiss regional newspaper Basler Zeitung today featured Team-Coolermaster's Call of Duty 4 star Florian 'Gifty' Gunzenhauser in a two page article, focusing primarily on the opinion and value of gaming from a Swiss gamer, both on his past, future and gaming itself.

The CoD4 star was a well accomplished Enemy Territory' player before making the transition to CoD late last year, having attended and placing well in all but one of the LAN events he attended, and remains a newschool legend within the scene.

He has travelled and played in the United States of America (Quakecon 2006 - 3rd with KiH), Poland (PGA Poznan 2006 - 3rd with zeroPoint!), Denmark (sHg Open 2007 and Clanbase Eurocup XIV - both 2nd with zeroPoint!) and Holland for all but the most recent LAN event organized by Stuart Saw and Crossfire.

SK Gaming's Raivo 'Stormm' Streistermanis was on hand to provide a translation of the first half of the article, enjoy.

"Three hours a day Flo* bangs people on the screen. He is an ego Shooter. A pro. And fully normal.

In the bedroom hangs a poster with the skyline of Manhattan. The Twin towers rise in the night sky, the world is still in order. The PC starts humming on its start up. But everything still is quiet.

At nine o'clock in the evening, on a little used Apartment street, there is no noise penetrating into the contemplative single-family dwelling.

"Hi guys, are you there?" Flo puts on a Headset and quickly clicks on the weapons which appear on the screen for the choice.

"Everyone is not on yet", one answers in German. Tonight the Hungarian and the Swiss national team will duel in the discipline "Call of Duty 4".

As he waits for his boys, Flo shoots at a car so long till it burns, then he goes in a house and hurls the stuff from shelves - everything virtually.

His fingers dart over the keyboard as it would be Beethoven's last piano sonata.

Flo began as a nine year old with the computer games. He wanted to know what fascinated to his four years older brother Tobi so that he sat for hours in front of the screen.

It was "Enemy Territory", so-called "killergame" which the Brothers played together. Released for 16 year olds, Flo was seven years too young.

His mother adds: "I have never allowed my son to play Games which in my opinion, were not meant for his age."

Serious. Essentially Flo describes his career, explains the "serious practice". He wants that one takes his hobby seriously. Therefore, he marks his words saying: I lay big value on the fact that the E-Sport becomes professional.""

"Like in Denmark, where a Pro-gamer is backed by the government, or in South Korea, where the best earn over 200 000 Franks yearly.

Flo tells about "complications" which appeared within the team play with his Brother. A lot of E-sport at home on the long-term led to argues, they couldn’t agree in the play strategies.

Thus Flo trained from now in "Call of Duty". In Germany the game for under 18 - year olds is forbidden, the European-wide age classification system Pegi recommends 16 +.

On the screen every few seconds a storm gun appears, there is an Ak 74, the same as "in reality". The terrain on which Flo battles this evening, he knows better than his own apartment.

The youngster leans around every ambush, every dead corner and around every wall which is too thin, and bullets every opponent he sees. Scene is a fictive capital city, maybe in Yemen or Afghanistan. The battlefield looks real: bombed out ruins, dusty palms, Car wrecks.

"Are you ready?”, Asks Flo. Because in group of five one is a Genevian, everyone speaks English. As an experienced player Flo determines the tactics. "Can you snipe? Then go on the roof. And somebody must go under it in the shop, in the defensive. It pays attention always to your Team mates. Don't rush." [...]"
