ImageThe RotK group play was filled with controversy as well as drama. SK Gaming topped the group of death and MYM barely made it to the playoffs despite beating SK in the opening game. MYM will meet World Elite and SK Gaming will meet Fnatic in the semi final.

When Meet Your Makers defeated SK to start the tournament, their fans did not expect the drama that was to come. MYM were under the spotlight once again following "pause game" drama between Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen and Xiang "TH000" Huang in their 2-4 loss to wNv Teamwork and 4-3 thriller against Mousesports.

According to the tournament organiser Sodoes, the wNv starlet killed around 4 grunts and leveled his Mountain King to three in the beginning of his game against Grubby on Gnoll Wood. He encountered an input problem and was popped out of the game when he was pushing Grubby's base. TH000's Mountain King had 89 mana and six footmen with defend upgraded as well as a Dust of Appearance while Grubby's level 1 Blade Master was staying in his base and had around 59 hit points by that time. TH000 had to pause the game right after he got back in game.

"Meet Your Makers demanded a rematch as TH000 paused the game without informing Grubby."
Instead of clicking save game as he wanted, TH000 clicked resume game later on without informing his opponent. However he paused game again immediately and apologised for his mistake, Meet Your Makers demanded a rematch as TH000 paused the game without informing Grubby.

Both wNv Teamwork and Meet Your Makers stood their ground firmly and the argument lasted for over two hours. The referee made the following decision: TH000 received a warning and players continued from the save game. However, Grubby quit the game without the referee's permission while everyone was waiting for the decision. His action violated rules IV and VII of the tournament. Grubby could either obey the referee's decision or forfeit his game and he chose the latter.

The game against Mousesports was even more packed with drama. At 2-2, Kim "SaSe" Hammar had to beat terminator Jang "Moon" JaeHo to put an unlikely end to his run. And he did. When Mouz were 3-2 up and just one map away from the playoffs, both SaSe and Yoan "ToD" Merlo faltered as MYM's captain Jung Ki "Susiria" Oh dug his team out of the grave (he is Undead after all).

"SK Gaming's loss to MYM turned out to have been a hiccup."
SK Gaming's loss to MYM turned out to have been a hiccup. SK Gaming players redeemed themselves outgunning Mousesports 4-2 and wNv Teamwork 4-1. The last game was another Seo Woo "ReiGn" Kang all-kill who scored all four points for SK.

SK's opponents in the semi final will be Fnatic who got past their group thanks to a one-point difference over Colorful. Group A was topped by World Elite who did not really have much trouble getting a playoffs spot and won all their games. Their real test in the tournament will be tomorrow's semi final against Meet Your Makers.
