Germany has found its Electronic Sports World Cup representative for Quake 3 in the 2006 Kode5 Q4 runner up, Marcel "k1llsen" Paul.The German Quake 3 scene could hardly be called a developed one these days. Long gone are the days of nmatched and players like Stephan "SteLam" Lammert, the WCG bronze medalist for Quake 3. The national final had three players participating (the fourth one did not show up) and finished without a surprise.
K1llsen had no trouble beating Uli "slain3" Krumb and Oleg "d1ablo" Kogut. The player from Osnabrück is a permanent fixture when it comes to representing his country at Quake events. He even finished second at the Quake 4 Kode5 Grand Final in 2006 (due to the disqualification of Anton "Cooller" Singov).
The demos from the final can be found right here.

But it's the same in Warcraft 3, two of the EPS-Players (Miou and Bash) didn't show up since there is only one Slot and HasuObs participating. So they just thought "we won't be able to beat him anyways"...
"Did not participate you mean?"
@dio-: Correct
@JoNinhoo: You seem to have misunderstood :)
