Frag Dominant, recently sponsored by AMD, ventures into WoW-arena after months of searching for a suitable team to compete with the likes of Pandemic & SK-Gaming, Capslock Crew seemed to be the perfect fit.
Capslock Crew finished 1st in the BG9 5vs5 Ladder last season, 1st in their former battle group Nightfall in Season 1 and continues to be one of the top teams in all brackets in BG9 and in the world.
"Press Release:
Frag Dominant, LLC. Ventures Into WoW
Philidelphia, PA., April 18 2008 – Frag Dominant, LLC. is proud to announce the acquisition of several key players formerly of Capslock Crew and Check-Six to comprise its new World of Warcraft division. Their lineup, led by Jesse "Inactive" Reed, is as follows:
3v3s:
Jesse “Inactive” Reed
Chris “Crysalid” Leonardis
Rich “Helldridge” Roland
5v5s:
Todd “Hammura” Causey
Alex "Elly" Eiranova
Management:
Kevin “Kevz” Chen
Brendan “Trance” Coyle
The main portion of the WoW team are from the world renowned Capslock Crew, who shook up the scene by taking 1st place in season two of Blizzard's official 5v5 ladder with wins over Team Pandemic. In the 1st official Blizzard season they finished 1st overall as well in Blizzard 5v5 Nightfall Ladder.
Kevz, the team manager, competed successfully on the WSVG 07' circuit along with Trance, taking several top 5 placements throughout the year. Trance is also coming off of a short stint with Team Fnatic where they finished in 1st-2nd in SK Gaming's online 5v5 tournament.
The combination of skill between members of the Capslock Crew and x6 is really nothing new – in actuality they joined forces roughly 3 months ago when Kevin “Kevz” Chen of x6 approached Jesse “Inactive” Reed of Capslock. They have high hopes, and so far the merger seems to have gone seamlessly.
“This team has some of the most talented players in the world, and as such we expect to compete with the best in the world,” states Trance. “The collection of talent on this team was the best we could find and I expect nothing but the finest results. We hope to solidify Frag Dominant's name among the WoW community as a staple of arena excellence.”
The move to solidify a powerhouse WoW division was largely motivated by a resurgence of competition in the scene. Blizzard Entertainment, which has a long history of supporting its strong communities, be they competitive or casual, recently announced the Blizzard $200,000 World of Warcraft Arena Tournament which will use the competitively preferred 3v3 format. In addition to this will be the Blizzard Paris Invitational in June, which will boast about $100,000 in prizes.
“We're very excited about the move to add World of Warcraft,” says Paul Cravey, PC Divisions Manager of Frag Dominant. “Blizzard is a publisher that supports its games, and that is something that guarantees competitive longevity, even without the WSVG. We intend to support this team to the best of our ability and it's really a blast to have them on board.”
