gamescom Partner 2014
For the first time in the history of the gamescom there will not be a single partner country, but an entire region for 2014. With the Nordic Region, gamescom has a very strong partner on its side. KooPee Hiltunen, Director Neogames Finland, Deputy Chairman of Board Nordic Game Institute says that "[...] the Northern countries are pioneering in the development of the European games industry, the partnership is also a strategically important move for the gamescom.[...]" (gamescom Press Release No. 08, May 2014). A major focus of the partnership will be set in the business area. "With more than 700 companies, over 7,000 employees and an annual turnover of over 1.5 billion EUR in 2013[..]" (Source), the Nordic Region (comprising Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden) will be representing one of the largest employers in the gaming industry.
gamescom 2014 Factsheet
This year’s gamescom will feature a total amount of 650 expected exhibitors on an area of 140,000 square metres. Some of the confirmed exhibitors are Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, Activision Blizzard, Bethesda Softworks, Bigpoint, Deep Silver/Koch Media, Electronic Arts, Konami, Namco Bandai, Oculus, Riot Games, 2K, Ubisoft, Wargaming, Warner Bros, AK Tronic, astragon, Bigben Interactive, bitComposer, Caseking, CD Projekt, flashpoint, Gaya Entertainment, Kalypso Media, Korea Creative Content Agency, Medion, NVIDIA, Roccat, UKIE and Turtle Entertainment and many many more. And once again, in Hall 9, the focus will stay on the e-sport section mostly represented by Turtle Entertainment and of course our very own SK Gaming Booth. The focus of most of the audience will, however, be on the "online worlds", which will be represented alongside the likes of Riot Games (League of Legends), Bigpoint, Good Game and many more. Another crowd-magnet will be Hall 10.1. Filled with a lot of cosplay and YouTuber power, the hall attracts a broad audience field year for year.
Not to forget: The outdoor area, once again will be filled with beach, fun and more. Gamescom wave and the gamescom beach should already be known to many of the past years visitors. The outdoor area offers just the right variety to the crowds in the halls and provides a large area to let off steam or to relax.
No matter what you will do at Gamescom ultimately: There is something for everyone and we wish you lots of fun, of course! Maybe we'll see you in Hall 9.1 on the Bigben booth. It's worth a visit!
