When diamonds stop shining: Gambit roster change

ImageRecently Gambit Gaming released a statement about their performance in which they particularly mentioned their star players Diamond and Darien. Prior to week 8 starting, they published some big news.

While there are many surprising factors in the 2014 season, the summer split brought surely one of the biggest: Alex Ich, for many people Gambit’s face, left them. Ever since then, they struggled a lot. Although they were positive about still being the old Gambit, it really felt like there wasn’t much left of the feared Season 2 powerhouse.

After 7 depressing weeks for their fans, Gambit decides to take action and solve the problem: Some might say it’s their newest addition, NiQ, but really it was their old core members Darien and Diamondprox, who simple did not perform. Two years ago, no one would have even thought about the legendary jungler and top laner going 0/7 in a game. Sadly, this has been the case, therefore the team’s management had to make a move.
The “weak links” were put on the substitute roster for now and got replaced by Jean-Victor "loulex" Burgevin and, a well known face for LCS fans, Jakub "Kubon" Turewicz.

Gambit in their official statement:
"To be clear, both Diamond and Darien remain in our organization at least until the end of this competitive circuit and both of them have a chance to return to our starting line-up."

As for the benched players themselves, Diamond hinted a possible change that many did not see coming: He mentioned that he might get picked up by an NA team and follow Edward’s path to another region.

Will those roster changes help Gambit get back to their prime form? Don’t forget to check out next week’s LCS!
