ImageA few days ago the auction for the Frostmourne replica was closed, two bids were over $20,000 and the winning bid - $20,700.

Frostmourne is the most famous weapon in the Warcraft history, the runeblade that Ner'zhul, the Lich King, thrust from his Frozen Throne, intending that Arthas Menethil – his unwitting potential host – would discover it on the continent of Northrend. It is currently wielded by Arthas/the Lich King.

The winning bid on $20,700 was made by Xeophonix from Italy.

Blizzplanet writes:
"A strong message to those who didn't think this sword would be appealing to hardcore World of Warcraft fans, indeed. After all there are Hollywood celebrities and professionals who play this game and have the strong cash to spend on their favorite fantasy setting.

Among known celebrities playing World of Warcraft are Felicia Day (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, TheGuild Webisode), Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), Dave Chapelle (Comedy Central) and many others."

The five highest bids:
1. Xeophonix - $20,700
2. Artix - $20,600
3. xsyed - $12,000
4. Pic - $5,100
5. Phire - $3,000

The 100 highest bids can be found at Blizzplanet. For those of you who wants to know more about the legendary Frostmourne, check out WoWWiki.
