Counter-Strike legend Jorgen "XeqtR" Johannessen sits down to answer a few questions on his move to the mousesports DotA squad.

It was announced today that Jorgen "XeqtR" Johannessen had officially joined the mousesports DotA team, so it was only right that the man himself gave a few comments on what he's being doing since his CS days, and why he's joined the mousesports squad. The interview follows.

Why have you decided to start competitive gaming again? And why DotA?
No specific reason. Right now I'm doing stuff outside of gaming, but I've also been using the computer for playing games with friends. Lately I've played more and more competitive games in DotA and I enjoy playing some serious games again.

I gather you've been playing DotA for quite a while now. How long exactly?
"I joined the team because I like to play more competitive DotA than random public DotA."

Since WEG1 in Korea [WEG1 took place between January 30th and March 20th 2005]

How did you end up in the mousesports squad?
Just played some in-house leagues like IHCS and NiHL, and then when mouz changed their roster and Drayich became leader I got in talks with him after some weeks and got to play some with them. Later on I played some PCWs and official games before I now finally joined them.

So you'll be a regular player in their line-up then?
No, at the moment we have 7 players and I'm more or less fighting for one of the last spots. I'm already not included in the ESWC team because they need three Swedes in that team and two of the starters aren't Swedes. But I'll probably play a lot of the official online games, since not everyone is able to play all the games. And of course I'll practise with them, that's why I joined the team because I like to play more competitive DotA than random public DotA.
"So there's no chance you'll rekindle that old flame in you, and come back to CS properly?
'I don't think so.'"

Does this mean you'll be putting as much time and effort into DotA as you did with CS?
Not at the moment, since I'm also working and studying at uni.

Will you be looking to play in any major tournaments with the team sometime in the future though?
Sure, we're already playing in DotA-League Div 1, DotAballers and MYM PriDe #10. The upcoming offline events are DreamHack and ESWC, and I might go to DH. Also there are a bunch of other online tournaments that I can't think of right now, so there are enough games to play that's why we need more than just five players in the team.

Do you still follow the pro Counter-Strike scene at all? Or keep in touch with fellow old-school players?
Well I did some commentating at ESWC last year and then I did the Extreme Masters for ESLTV, so that's what I've been following when it comes to CS. But I look through the different E-Sport sites from time to time.

Have you played much Counter-Strike since you departed the competitive scene back in 2006?
Not much, hardly any at all.

So there's no chance you'll rekindle that old flame in you, and come back to CS properly?
I don't think so.

Well that's about all I've got to throw at you. Thanks very much!
