Earlier today the grand final of SLAP #14 took place in Århus, Denmark between mTw.dk and Swedish mixteam Playnation.

After losing to Gravitas early on in the upper bracket, Playnation were dropped down into the lower bracket where they fought hard beating the likes of mTw.de, SoA and Edge to eventually earn their place in the grand final.

Coming from the lower bracket, the Swedes were required to win two maps against mTw in the final, but were unable to take even one, and thus were knocked out in second place. Their line-up consisted of face, floreNz, GeT_RiGhT, gux and JAEGARN.

The Danish mTw squad had close matches against both Gravitas and edge in the upper bracket, winning both by the marginal score of 16-13, but were able to pull through and make it into the grand final, which they later won against Playnation 16-5.

Second seeds, and one of the favourites to win the tournament, SoA, were knocked out by runners-up Playnation in the fourth round of the lower bracket after a heavy defeat against Edge; losing on de_nuke by a 16 to 1 score-line. SoA placed 5-6th in the tournament, along with jointz, who went out to Gravitas.

The champions' sister team, mTw.de, were also knocked out of tournament by the Swedes of Playnation, and ended the weekend in 7-8th place along with wooSai.

Edge took the third place spot, after losing 16-13 to the eventual winners in the upper bracket final, and then taking a hit from Playnation in the consolation final, losing by a heavy score-line of 16-3.

mTw.dk took home the first place prize of 30,000 DKK and five 22-inch TFT monitors, with 20,000 DKK going to Playnation and a further 10,000 going to third place finishers Team Edge.
