As of today, the German gaming organisation called SPEED-LINK doesn't have a Call of Duty 4 team.A shocking and somewhat expected news was announced just few hours about the Call of Duty 4 team of SPEED-LINK as they have decided to give up trying and go on separate ways. After the departures of long term member and in-game leader Enrico "Fuchsstute" Ausborn, who didn't have time to play any more, and Daniel "humM3L" Müller, who decided to quit gaming after team's poor performance at recent CDC4 LAN (they finished 9th-16th), they noticed that the gap Ausborn left was too hard to fill.
According to Michael Sowa they realised that they didn't have to energy to climb up the ladder yet another time and it was easier to call it a day. "After several attempts to get back on track," he said, "we finally realised that we wouldn't have enough energy to do another comeback."
The team included the following players before the announcement:
Michael "Trigger" Sowa
Daniel "phY1"
Ralf "niTro" Beyer
Michael "spaR" Ege
"This is the last day of SPEED-LINK CoD4, even though we didn't want it to end this way. After several attempts to get back on track, we finally realised that we wouldn't have enough energy to do another comeback. We felt that the German player market wouldn't provide us what we needed to get back on top again. We couldn't achieve much in Call of Duty 4, our power was just not enough anymore," said Trigger on tek-9.org.
"We would like to thank everybody who helped and supported us over the years from CoD 1 on and also I would like to thank every player of the team over that time, who have made it something special. Last but not least we would like to thank SPEED-LINK and our Manager Rene, who supported us for about two years now and made everything we could have dreamed of happen. Thank you."

"Fuchsstute just couldn't be replaced."
"Some will probably come up with things like "I knew it" or things like this, but in the end we really did our best not to let this happen. Even with 3 setbacks within the last 5 months, we always had the will to come back. At the end we saw that Fuchsstute just couldn't be replaced and even though every player hungers for more, it won't happen with this team any more.""We would like to thank everybody who helped and supported us over the years from CoD 1 on and also I would like to thank every player of the team over that time, who have made it something special.
