In a replay of the winner bracket final, WE RLY CARE had the upper hand as they only had to win one out of two best of three series to take the title. They also took the lead as they won the very first match on Ruins of Lordaeron, but that was also as far as they got since Nihilum totally dominated the rest of the games and managed to win the first set with a 3-1, and the second 3-0.

Just after the game we caught up with Nihilum's Priest and team captain Phixus for a few questions.
Congrats for winning the second tour! What changes did you guys do since your loss against WRC in the WB final?
Thanks! Well the first match we had against WRC in the winners bracket we tried to pressure the mage almost permanently and never really paid much attention to the warlock. We also tried a lot more to kite pretty much permanently back then, the switches were mostly rogue-mage and we played pretty static according to that (and what was in LoS/range etc).
In the finals we kited somewhat less and focussed a lot more on pure DPS, just hard dps on the mage to reduce his dps. When he blocks we usually switched to the warlock now (this was a big change in our tactic) and tried to finish him off. We don't remove iceblocks against them because we dont really want to zerg the mage in that sense. We mostly want to reduce his dmg. So when he pops back out of his iceblock we're usually back on him after a few seconds unless the warlock (or anyone else we switched to for whatever reason) was really low.
Ofcourse we kill mage pets instantly, but that's nothing new. I just dispel the mage completely at the start and that really helps Hammee and Cherez' dps (which is insane to say the least on a dry mage).
Long games against them aren't really bad (can kite pretty much forever if we do it properly and viper sting keeps doing it's job). So the "objective" is really to have huge dps on their mage/lock to force them into a defensive position, but not to really ZERG THEM DOWN in the classical sense. So we switch a lot and that's that pretty much :p
Before the final we had a chat with Hammee who explained your sudden change of setup for this tournament, does this mean that this is your new "main" setup?
Mm yea, we played hunter/lock drainburn setup before but I personally hated that setup (NEED HEROISM) and the playstyle that comes with it. So I signed us up with hunter/shaman even though we had only played 1-2 days with it before.
It's a really fun setup though if you like the super aggresive playstyle, and yeah I think we'll stick with this for a while. Also I don't think any of the 2.4 nerfs will hit that setup very hard, so yeah I don't see any reason atm to change the setup (unless maybe to try something new like 3melee which I'd personally like to try). But we'll see what the future brings.
How does the setup work for you guys in the bracket, any special teams(setups) that you feel are easier or harder?
We haven't really met any real cockblocks yet, although I must say that 3healer teams can be pretty hard because of our lack of CC (they train me, while our dps gets cc'ed away and healed up). Just in general I can say that team with HIGH dps are very hard for us because of our lack of CC. If a team manages to spot really good switches and they have their dps in order it'll be really hard for us.
So against 2345/6 for example we have to REALLY be constantly watching their dps, because if we dont switch to them really fast and they get to many bolts etc off (remember we dont have CoT) someone will die. So the setup is really all about the switching, switching from a manaburning priest to a shaman thats nuking etc etc. We just have to pressure enough so that priests stop burning and start healing etc. But sometimes that's just really hard.
How do you feel that the Cyclone battlegroup is progressing lately with the tournaments and new teams?
Oh Cyclone is great :) Like I said on my gameriot interview, Millenium really needs to come here and then I feel Cyclone is "complete". We'll have all the best teams in EU for sure. Especially now that ajukreizi and some others transfered recently. The tournaments are fun too, it's to bad there's no prices or anything but meh. These tournaments keep people sharp and they're a great way to see cool 5v5 matches if more people start frapsing. 3v3 is fine too ofcourse, that bracket has a lot more serious tournaments then 5v5. I think a "sponsored" 5v5 tournament would be great, it's something I really miss.
Allright well thanks for your time and congratulations to the win once again, any shoutouts?
Just want to say thanks to N|Ghorok! You're always in our vent channel supporting us, we couldn't have done it without you mate!!!!! And ofcourse thanks Seita from Knockout for organising the tournament and Nessaj for being a little cuddlebear.

Overall a succesful tournament. I feel the length of the tournament should be shorten down somehow. It seems the first couple of weeks are intense with many matches going on and then when the teams reaches the finals there are so few games and the interest seems to drop. Combined with all the match postponing, it took waaay too long imo.
Oh and for those who care, a video should be up tomorrow.
:D
Kinda surprised to see you mentioning our name in your interview, it warms my heart ^^.

The matches were all incredibly short, and in this particular case, with Shader being Combat instead of ShS(No opener due to perception, and of course Chastise!), the match was really in Nihilum's favour, even though WRC would've only needed to win one set.
Surviving one set of cooldowns with a frost-trap and Viper, whilst the priest doesn't need to burn to create pressure, as opposed to a 2345/6 setup, so he can focus solely on dispelling/healing(which is huge), because the Hunter/Warrior by themselves create a ton of pressure, especially on cloth, is quite a big difference as opposed to surviving two sets of cooldowns where the rogue can constantly stick on a (cloth)target and can never really be switched too.
I wasn't all that surprised to see Nihilum win, especially not considering I hadn't seen WRC queue for more than a few games the past two weeks or so, even though I asked them every night(and when we played them they were playing somewhat poorly, too).
As for the tournament: I think it was a nice idea. However, the seeds can really screw you over(RMPWD vs tri-healer, 2345/6 vs RMPWD etc. ), and can easily mean an early exit in the tournament, considering I don't think the top contenders in the tournament can 'outskill' eachother by a large margin enough margin to overcome a severe advantage/countercomp(Which is the reason why Nihilum went with Hunter/Shaman as opposed to Shaman/Warlock, or Hunter/Warlock in the first place)
Would be nice if the next tournament would have some kind of group play before the knock outs begin, which could be done in rated as well and would make the bracket more active - this would also ease up on the countercomping.
Peace, and Grats Nihilum.
Is there some difference in 'skill' levels in the top 10? Most definately. More often than not, however, the difference is incredibly minor. Because, let's be real, how awesome can you really become at WoW?
I haven't seen any top 10 team make me go: 'WoW. These guys are so fucking good, their teamwork/coordination is amazing, I totally understand why we're losing".
Ranting on again. :(
Congrats for winning the second tour! What changes did you guys do since your loss against WRC in the WB final?
They didn't change anything from what I could see. We just played so incredibly bad, without sounding like a whiner, check the frapsings when they're out!
No idear who you are and you probably wont tell me what team you played for.
First of all, we never dodged and never will. It was people being jealous over our superiorty in rampage, there was no teams there that gave us a real challenge, and those that did just had a better setup or a warlocktrain tactic. Those times where we played 10 games a week was because of HOLIDAYS, i was gone in the christmas, i was gone in the winter break, and the week after the warlock was gone. We didnt intentually play 10 games a week, that was just what we could make before people went on a trip again....
Besides, who didnt we meet in the battlegroup? We have a plus score against all teams playing in the top 20 when we were there. But the problem was that no team could pressure us, we were at 2460 while second were at 2280. No one ever came higher so that just proves we were no good in that battlegroup since the rest of the teams did fine against each other.
We made 2 new teams after selling ajukreizi. lack of experience and ajukreizi reloaded. We played a total of 200 games within a week, and you know what? People didnt show up to the matches against us, when we were lower than them instead of higher. So guess what :)
(Oh and, maybe we didnt "conquer" the battlegroup like Knockout, because they had nothing else to do than 5v5ing while some of us had raids in ajukreizi, but we still won Knockout 2-1 before they left) .... And now ajukreizi is at 2221 rating, after selling the first team at 2253 at cyclone, i guess we are some bad ass dodgers!

Thats not true. We ( AYO TECHNOLOGY ) were in top20 since the first week the team was formed, and reached 2nd like 2-3 weeks after and stayed there another 2-3 weeks, been 1st after that since you left.
We always queue at afternoon / evening and let people on irc know.
I am not calling you dodgers, i can understand your rl stuff that made you play too little, but since we did over 150 games on normal times while you were on Rampage, you don't have the right to say that you have a plus score against us.
But anyway, nice to see another team coming from Rampage being competitive on Cyclone (at least from the looks of it on ladder so far), gl on next tournament there :)
