Buddhist Monks use Valve's hit: the Counter-Strike game as a relaxing drug, says the latest MTV report.

Buddhist Monks use Valve's hit: the Counter-Strike game as a relaxing drug, says the latest MTV report.According to the MTV Multiplayer site, many monks are using videogames for relaxing in China. Buddhist Monks can not drink alcohol, eat meat or get married, but it is extremely free for them to play violent video games. MTV did a research regarding the topic, and found hard evidences
Gearbox Software's Randy Pitchford tells a story he managed to hear at his China trip.
"I was a bit surprised when I was in China and I was told about a group of Monks who live in a temple next to a Cybercafe," Pitchford starts.
One of the Buddhist rules is, "Do not kill", which softens monks credibility and highlights the news. It seems the rule does not have any effects on playing videogames.
"I never thought I’d see a monk pull out his knife and hack someone to death because he’d run out of ammo!", Chris Lynch exploded.
"The monks I saw were mostly teenagers, dressed in dark maroon robes, but otherwise pretty much the same as boys everywhere. They were quieter, but not in an intense, competitive way — they were having a lot of fun shooting each other, and chatting among themselves while they did."
