American "Hafu" from the realm Tichondrius in BG9 can most probably be considered as the worlds best female gamer. Not only is she the only girl among the 100 highest rated WoW players in the world, but she is also leading it.
Hafu is playing a Night Elf druid and was last week ranked first in 2vs2, first in 3vs3 and second in 5vs5 - in battlegroup 9 which is considered as one of the best (if not the best) battlegroup in the world.
For those interested, her setups consists of:
2vs2: Druid/Warrior (2491 rating)
3vs3: Druid/Warrior/Warlock (2378 rating)
5vs5: Druid/Warrior/Warlock/Rogue/Priest (2420 rating)
SK Gaming will _hopefully_ have an interview with Hafu available in a few days, so stay tuned!
one of my friend said: Wooo,Hafu.
We do atleast, and making an interivew takes time, it's not the easiest of tasks to get a hold of wow players.
I didn't say that, that's why there's a questionmark at the end of the title.
Too gosey i didt talk about the title. "can most probably be considered as the worlds best female gamer."
murre fails at typing
murre fails at comprehension
gg
She might be the world's best WoW arena player, but she might not be the best Counter-Strike player, best Quake player, and so on. That was what murre was trying to say with the analogy between HeatoN (CS) and herself (WoW), and Beckham (soccer) and other sports.
It's just not accurate to say that she's "probably be considered as the worlds best female gamer". Unless of course you feel that WoW is the only game worth playing competitively in the world. ;)
What is gosey getting out of this? Her digits? A run in an instance with her?
pd: wow is actually a good game, try playing it ;)
3 years of farming items just to farm a bit faster next time, unbalanced pvp, boring pve (at first it might appear to be quite interesting, but to be honest it's hell of a boring shit after you are playing the same instance for the 15th time).
But whats the matter, if she wants to play wow let her do so.
I'm not saying that Hafu might not be the best female gamer in the world, but based on the fact that she plays WoW, she's likely not to be.
Good day.
good day.
I do know WoW, thought, even though I haven't gone to the same detail as you as the game hasn't really caught my interest. That means that I cannot comment in-depth about precise skills in the game, but on an overall level the gameplay isn't hard to perceive. What I'm doing is comparing it to other games that require much more skill. I think you might lack knowledge of other more competitively oriented games or you might compare the games on another level than I do.
It isn't time invested that seperates full season3 geared teams at 1900 rating to the same geared teams that play at 2400-2500 rating, it's skill, teamplay, coordination, knowledge of the game (other classes/abilities) etc etc. Same thing as _ANY_ teambased videogame.
Take counterstrike for example.. for an outsider it's nothing else than hoovering your mouse on someone's head (or body w/e) and clicking on your mouse1. Cs players will recognize that skill when someone shoots a headshot in a blink of an eye, but to someone that's not familiar with the game to a certain extend it's not that much different then a guy taking a second to aim and then shooting a headshot (hope you get what i'm saying by this).
Anyway, there will always be sceptics about the game, I'm not saying it takes the exact same skill or whatever as other, more e-sport friendly, games, but stating it takes no skill and rewards only by time invested is wrong (not talking about PvE, but about PvP).
Ofcourse the more you play and practise the better you will eventually become, but that's a given fact in any game / sport.
You take Counter-Strike as an example, which fits me perfectly. Counter-Strike is perhaps one of the most multi-faceted games in the industry at the moment. Because of it's gameplay with more restricted movement and effect, in involves more tactics and thinking than a game like Unreal Tournament. And yet the game is fast enough to require quick thinking and deep understanding of the gameplay.
In Counter-Strike, aim and reflexes do play a large role, however as players are only human and killing another player is so easy, there are many things that you have to be acutely aware of to do well. When you move in Counter-Strike, you movements must a all times be coordinated with the three following things: placement of emminent enemies, placement of teamates, placement of players around the map (in view of tactics/timing when you have to advance through the map). You also cannot just aim - often you will be too slow or you will miss. That's why you have to think of the following things when you pre-determine how to aim: velocity of impact required, height levels, health/weapon of opponent, angle/technique (how you will best advance towards an opponent to minimize the risk of being shot, adjusting your aim by that), placement of opponents/number of opponents (you will be unlikely to aim in head height if two opponents are coming at the same time, from the same angle at different altitudes), movement of opponents. Seeing that you can only react once you see an opponent, you have to pre-determine a lot of things. There are things like pre-fire and shooting through objects, which both require an instinctual knowledge of the likely behaviour of your opponent as well of the consequences of your actions. When it comes to teamplay, Counter-Strike doesn't have built-in routines. Anything can work, you just need a lot of thought behind it. You have to react to everything your teammates and opponents do, and your action has to be based on a plan of how you want to acheive your objective. The coordination and positition between teammates is carried out in many way and is crucial, whether you shoot at different oppoents, try to flank opponents, rush a location or make an ambush attack.
The above a just a few of the many facets you will experience if you play Counter-Strike at the highest level. What lies in this category can be conscious as well as sub-conscious. WoW does represent several of the elements mention, but not in any fully-fledged way. WoW isn't as fast, you don't have as many variables and options as hard - the way you have to deal with things is more set. The only thing that WoW excells on is the plentiful combinations in items and skill, which does require intricate knowledge, but only makes you skilled at WoW, not as a gamer.
the best female gamer were Ali and she play CS
WoW is not about skill... it is about sit 24/7 behind PC!
SK have really posted a lot of empty news-items, and while this article might be justified if the ranking is official and would last for more than a week, but it's completely misleading and to top that it even announces the intent of getting an interview in a few days, in which case you could have combined the two and kept from wasting our time.
