Mykhaylo "HoT" Novopashyn, who came from lower bracket, triumphed over the event dominator Kim "SaSe" Hammar in the overall final and defended his SEC championship title.HoT went through a rocky weekend as he was crashed out of EM II early in the group stage, however, he persevered with the fate and continued his march in SEC. The 21-year-old, who was knocked down to the lower brackets by his last SEC final opponent Yoan "ToD" Merlo, took the vengeance in lower brackets final and joined SaSe in the overall final.
The mischievous Swedish player sought to continue his amazing performance in SEC after outgunning two favourites - Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen and ToD on his way to the final. However, the dream of getting hold of his first title fell into pieces as he was vanquished by the defending champion with two clean sheets.
