Ten of the worlds best teams have qualified for the ESL Extreme Masters Season II Finals but only four can qualify for the Double Elimination. The groupstage had some surprising results with fnatic, Virtus.Pro and Made in Brazil being eliminated.

Starting with mousesports defeating both roccat and fnatic on Day 1 already the surprising results began right away. Continuing with SoA beating MiBr and playing a draw against fnatic the Group A mess was perfect. Mousesports have been dominating in their group defeating everyone placing first with four wins out of four matches, something that has not been expected by them after the disappointing NGL Finals results. SoA and fnatic had to play a deciding match in order to determine the third spot being equal with points and rounds but also having tied in group stage.

Group B first went like everyone expected it to be, SK Gaming and Virtus.Pro beating Excello but Alternate managed to put up a great game against e-STRO winning with 22-8. The hottest match of Group B was surely SK Gaming vs Virtus.Pro but again SK Gaming dominated their opponent as well as all the others placing first with also four wins out of four matches.

Now that the Groupstage finished, the first placed team of each group directly advances to the Double Elimination Playoffs which obviously are Mousesports and SK Gaming. The second and third play each other (2nd A vs 3rd B and 3rd A vs 2nd B) tomorrow noon. The winner of these matches also qualify for the Double Elimination making it four teams playing Stage matches then at the Intel Booth.
