Fnatic, the number one Counter-Strike team in the world has been stopped in the Extreme Masters II tournament.

The EM II group stage ended with a shocker as the biggest favourites of the competition failed to get themselves a spot in the playoffs. It started with Fnatic's unexpected defeat to Mousesports, a team that failed so miserably a mere two weeks ago at the NGL One finals in Berlin.

It got even worse later on, as Fnatic lost to Made in Brazil, also 18-12, and had to win their next two games to have a guaranteed spot in the playoffs. Their next match against Spirit of Amiga delivered an agonising draw on de_nuke.

The draw put Fnatic's fate out of their hands completely and they were at the mercy of Mousesports. A victory against Roccat put them on third place in the group under the condition that Mouz beat SoA by a relatively large margin.

Now after being equal with SoA on points and round difference a decider match has been played. Maps were voted out and de_inferno was the map to be played with fnatic starting as terrorist. They were able to get 5 rounds which wasn't enough in the end as SoA beat them 16:12 overall and getting the third spot playing the relegation tomorrow.
