ID Gaming collapse after a fraud scam by one of the new Swedish managers Deko.
ID Gaming have had problems in the past but looked to be on the uprise with the new Swedish management taking charge, they then picked up the Norwegian team unsterblich, better known as Fainted, with ID looking good and getting themselves set up for The Gathering LAN which is taking place very soon.
After an unfortunate turn of events they now can not attend The Gathering LAN after one of their management "Deko" stole the sponsorship money which was going to be used to pay for their flights and hotels.
The team posted a statement over at fragbite found here. They have also now split from the ID Organization and are attempting to get their money back, they have said they will not take Deko to the Swedish courts if the money is returned.
It is a great shame that this has happened and a definitive blow in the e-sports scene for this kind of stuff to go on but large amounts of money can change peoples ways, we hope the ex ID Gaming get their money back and are able to continue their team.

The G7 have said they're doing this and that, fine, batter on, but I think in all seriousness we need some kind of watch dog group and public list for people like this. I can't think of an organization G7 in a better position right now other than the G7 to try and do just that.
These people don't pull this kind of thing once then disappear, it's constant, and the sooner they get scouted the sooner people can be warned about them.
I was victim to something similar and the feeling of helplessness that comes with it is enough to turn you right off of trying again. People like Deko are a genuine threat to progress within e-sports, I know first hand and something should be done.
G7, get on it, I'm sure there's no shortage of volunteers who would be more than happy to get involved.
I'll take my thumbs back too.
ps: the contracts thing was also a good one.
You didn't tell a joke, you just thought it was funny that they had something unfortunate happen to them.
Everything about you screams sadist though so I'm not at all surprised, do you own any fetish gear at all?
Realist dear shagrath realist! A mediocre team gets scammed by an unknown manager; I'll get round to caring when I've stopped crying over the poverty in Africa and Munoz not being able to afford his crack addiction anymore. Sadist, lol, give me a break.
ID Gaming were careless with their money and are paying the consequences, they were taken advantage of and although it was a mistake on their part they do deserve to have their money returned to them.
Their carelessness doesn't negate the fact that there are many teams in our budding industry who put trust in managerial staff, well founded or otherwise, that in the end walk away with an amount of money significantly greater than $500 that does not belong to them. Con artists take these opportunities because they are sure they'll get away with it, as does any criminal.
What I'm suggesting is that we try to implement measures that would mean that they do NOT get away with it, or at the very least aren't able to suppress their crimes long enough to strike again.
To see teams and organisations with the potential to some day stand next to the likes of SK or MYM get snaked out of their opportunity because of some slimy, deceitful bastard pisses me off immensely and maybe when it happens to a CoD4 team it will piss you off too.
What they do is potentially detrimental to the vision of e-sports that I have and the one you pretend to have.
It wasn't ten minutes after the CGS announced their franchises that the extortion began. As soon as money is injected into the scenario the swindlers come crawling out of the woodwork and I think a little help would go a long way to help sustain our teams, our competition and our integrity.
I wasn't serious when I called you a sadist, a narcissist no doubt, but a sadist... I couldn't say.
Granted money is a scarce resource concerning e-sports, but for example if some of these G7 teams were to produce limited edition items like signed mouse pads or what have you, with part of those proceeds going towards providing a legal defense fund for persons who have been taken advantage of, as well as other initiatives, that might help. Taking donations and approaching sponsors for assistance pertaining to resources could also be organised by the G7.
Steelpad are very hands on with the community, sponsoring a lot of teams as well as that 100,000 euro's they earmarked for e-sports business proposals. I wouldn't be surprised if they would be interesting in supporting such an initiative.
They might not end up with the resources to take every scumbag to court, but the threat alone coming from an organisation the perpetrator is aware have had previous success in reclaiming stolen property or even successfully pursuing criminal charges might think twice before acting or before letting it get as far as a court room.
Again these are just examples and I'm sure further research would provide something more solid, but it's an idea.
I dont understand why g7 teams should do something about it. Would you entrust your money to someone who you almost dont know and has a fine references, I doubt. It's time to move on and learn from the mistakes. Good luck in court. But if they rely on deko's conscience they are really optimistic.^^
alltherage and cubesports to name two of my own experiences.
Trust noone.
how on earth is it even possible for a manager to steal the money, didn't he know the team? didn't he have a good relationship with the sponsor from Titan? cause if he didn't why trust him with the team's money?
not much you can do about this really ... saying you'll go to court is actin out real tough n all, but won't do you any good really =)
