The recently announced Digital Games will be an official Welcome Event for the 2008 Olympic Games with several professional and amateur competitions, celebrity gaming competitions and a gaming Pentathlon. The games for the event have not been announced yet but the event's website has a forum post asking which games should be used.
The official mascots of the Digital Games are Fugu, a red ember, and Agu, a blue droplet of water. The website of the event can be accessed at http://dg.ggl.com/.

Claiming CoD4,Battlefield or C&C to be used is stupid, the scene of these games is comparabled small.
Also, the fact that the event is taking place in China has to be in everybodies minds. I would say use Starcraft instead of WC3, but the fact is that Warcraft 3 is huge there, together with CS 1.6 which means these games will contribute alot of on spot specators.
So please, stop rooting for your favourite games to be used at Digtal Games, it might joyable for you and the few people playing that game, but this is a one chance only, let us show the world how big gaming can be and we should use the proper games to do so.
"we should use _proper_ games to do so" I hope ure joking with the word proper, that makes u look like a shelfish retard. "should use more popular game" would be a better choice. just because some game is more popular doesnt make it more proper.
My english knowledge is not top notch, so the word proper could sound disrespectful against other games, that was not my intention at all.
As I said, having this huge chance they should use game with the biggest community behind(CS, War3, Quake and maybe even WoW).
We should also use the geographical limitation when deciding games, I can assure you there are basically no existing scene at all for games such as CoD4, C&C , Battlefield, NFS etc in China which is the host for this event.
To make the tournament become succesful, why use games the chinese people doesn´t care for? I´m sure they care for Counter-strike and Warcraft 3, can you say the same thing about the games you suggest ?
Once more, my intention was not to hurt anyone, let´s all just hope this can be a good event, which ever game they decide to use, but the chance for succesful is based on the popularity of the games they pick, hope they realize this.

This is not my favourite games... But I think these games might could be the best choose for a China E-Sport Olympic Games;D
FIFA are not popular game in China, so dunno... And Gears of War is popular in China after that I've seen.
