ImageMore information about the Digital Games in China has come out in a recent interview with GGL Chairman Ted Owen.

In an interview with GameRiot, the American enterpreneur discloses GGL's plans as to his event. The general idea of the Digital Games is that it is going to be a cultural event more than a professional gaming event. GGL hopes to attract casual gamers with multiple genres and game platforms. Celebrity musicians and athletes playing video games are also supposed to be a part of the DG08, but esports tournaments will be included as well.

The other topics of the interview are whether gaming is a sport, the obstacles ahead of esports in North America, the aim of the Digital Games and a few others. Owen is not afraid of expressing interesting ideas, including that MTV sucks:

“I look at MTV and I’m always like, you know I grew up on MTV and they don’t know what the hell they’re doing with the gaming space now,” he says in the interview. “So, we figured, you know what? We could figure out how to program the gamers in a better way than anybody else can. Why am I waiting around for MTV to try to do it when they can’t, they suck. So, we’re focused on delivering that content.”
