Daniel "XLord" Spenst owes much of his success to SK Gaming who selected him for the SK06 project and later placed trust in him as they added him to their international team for the WC3L and NGL.
Following his exit from the team XLord was recently interviewed on MYM claiming a lack of team spirit within the team as well as accusing the managing director of SK Alexander "TheSlash" Mueller of being a liar.
It is always disappointing to hear a player talk bad about their former team but even more disappointing when it is not the truth.
Statement from managing director of SK Gaming Alexander "TheSlash" Mueller:
"I feel sorry for XlorD when reading something like that but he told me in advance he would throw mud in our direction. What happened is one of the reasons why we did not want to work with him in the first place.
He is a very young player that still has to learn a lot. He accused me of being a liar for not raising his salary within his running contract. In fact, the happened, as he got a raise though there was no need to do so.
XlorD says he had problems with Miou, which is very true. He showed no respect towards his teammate and when it was needed (preparation for the EPS Finals), he played him with 50% of his capability only. This is one of many similar incidents we have had.
When talking about team spirit, XlorD is crossing a line. Of course we had two groups within the squad at the end of 2008, but it was clear which direction the team would change. We discussed it in Cologne with the players with the team spirit in mind.
SK has always kept a close relationship with its players and always will. This is the reason why MadFroG, HeMan and others show up at special events. This is the reason why Insomnia started and ended his career at SK. It is the reason why great players like to play for SK. It takes more than just being very good at your game. At least that is what we believe.
We chose Reign over XlorD and we have the strong belief this was the right call at the right time. It seems XlorD has a problem with that, but we can't and won't change it."
Statement from player Daniel "miou" Holthuis:
"I was trying to decide if I should reply or not but in the end I decided to do so as this interview shows SK in a wrong and bad way and it makes me feel sad to read stuff like this. In my opinion the interview in question is biased and it just shows how envious XLorD is for being the second choice in SK. He lied and did not tell the entire story.
In his interview, the first thing that he mentioned as a motivating factor for him to play was money. At sixteen years old! He always asked for more money from SK even though SK had no obligation to give him a raise. XLorD's prime motivation for playing has always been money and he was just unhappy he did not get what he wanted.
Despite not getting along too well anymore, we played together as a 2on2 team in the GSL league. He claimed at least 60% of the prize money and refused to share it 50/50, which is typical for a 2on2 tournament. I agreed as I was tired of arguing with him.
For the next season he went behind my back and played with Take even though he agreed to play that season together with me after winning the previous one.
SK and the team has welcomed him and supported him to the best of our ability, even though he did not achieve anything big up to that point. I attended several tournaments, including GameGune in Bilbao, specifically to take care of him because that is what XlorD's father and Alex (TheSlash) asked me to do. But every time I asked him for practice games he declined, although I heavily needed training versus Undead. This was his way of thanking me, nice teammate!
As for the Koreans dining on their own, I had an EPS game right after the finals that I wanted to play from the SK office. We all agreed that we would not go to a restaurant together. Furthermore, the team was lodged in different places because there most hotels in Cologne were booked that weekend. The Korean players were staying in Düsseldorf with reis.
I had no problems with the atmosphere in the team and did not feel like there was a barrier between the Korean and European players. Everyone was happy about the outcome of the tournament. I met Lyn at the Extreme Masters challenge not so long ago and we had a lot of stuff to talk about.
You have to consider that our team is pretty new and it is not that easy for the Koreans to speak English. I have to say that they are trying hard though and it has got much better already. I think if there were problems like XlorD stated we would not have been able to win the WC3L finals."
Statement from manager Mik Sik "reis" Ko:
"The reason why we write these statements is because some people really believed in what XLorD said in the interview on MYM. I thought that we had no problem with each other, but it seems like he is really frustrated and that is the reason for talking bad behind my back instead of face to face. I never talked bad about XLorD behind his back and never mentioned his behaviour in any kind of a way in an interview that I did after his departure.
Maybe XlorD should try to grow up and show a more professional attitude because what he is doing right now has nothing to do with being a professional. If he still has a problem with anything he should come and talk to me instead of publishing rubbish on the MYM site.
Miou's statement is very well written and gives the truth of what actually happened during the time with the former members. I hope Xlord realises and the community can see that there is no reason for XlorD to blame SK and talk trash about us.
XlorD had to leave SK so he should face the fact that he is not SK anymore and trying to influence public opinion towards SK."

GL XLorD
to be honest, this is a little bit ridiculous. just like "he talks shit, so do I"
cheers
XlorD -> Reis is retard? :O
he don't help miou train... miou need a lot of ud train(sry but true).
i hope ReiGn help miou to train human vs Ud
And as SK doesn't respond to that at all it makes me think he said the truth about it which makes this article totally worthless.
-ofc. he played whole season with Davin and only the finals with you (Miou)
In his interview, the first thing that he mentioned as a motivating factor for him to play was money. At sixteen years old!
-ofc....when your good at something you want to make profit of it. Age doesn't matter, look at soccer players who go to a big club to 'earn' a lot of money
I had no problems with the atmosphere in the team and did not feel like there was a barrier between the Korean and European players.
-how can you say there was no barrier between the Korean and European players. There always is a barrier in the beginning and it might take a while to get used to each other. Maybe for you it just felt different than for a young guy like XlorD
I am sure there is some kind of truth in this 'newspost'. But imo it just looks like SK is frustrated about another incident.

-> That's not SKs attitude, why should they support it?

->I've never heard that XlorD was trying to communicate with his fellow mates, even when he and miou were at WCG Germany they avoided each other as much as they could, i doubt he acted different towards the koreans, so why does he complain? the only communication he had in sk was talking russian with hot and deadman
I know how SK works since i've been working with them two times before, luckily it never became three. Remember when Mykhaylo "HoT" Novopashyn "wrote" that statement about the Deadman incident, first of all, HoT's English wasn't fluent at all, SK faked it. Isn't it strange that SK as an organization would fake and lie through one of their own players? I mean come on, there is no reason to do so.
I do know that Deadman was acting up a bit.
On XlorD I can only imagine that SK wants to stand up for themselves and protect their fine rumor of being a good organisation, which it also is. The only bad thing about SK is that the management is lead by 2 year olds that needs to fight kids, apparently. Once again, I do realize SK's will to wipe off the ink-spots from their name, so they do what they do. It isn't wrong, but it sure as hell isn't right either. What SK should have done was to talk to XlorD face to face, not going out about it through the internet, that's simply childish behaviour and is not what I expect from such a good organization.
XlorD was polite enough to give hints to the management about what he was going to say so if it was expected, why go brag about it? If SK would've cared, they should have asked him about what he was going to say, right? Yes, right.
Again, if SK is unhappy, talk to XlorD himself, not the entire community as we have nothing to do with it. It is between SK and XlorD.
And finally, to talk about the players and crew. Ofcourse they agree with the management. The management has their salary and contracts and with that, their opinions. If they disagree, who knows.. maybe someone "suddenly had to leave the team due to personal matters...", you get it.
And about the crew, I can admit that some of them also gets paid, so yes ofcourse they all agree with the management.
(This will probably get deleted.)
Xlord said truth, and all the normal ppl know that, no need to lie like u do in this news.
I'd say more but too big risk of me receiving ban in next 10 minutes
Like a lot above, im wondering what's SK's response is on the claim that the didnt receive all money. And i would like to know what Xlord's response is to all the talk about him being a money wolf.
-How come you blame Xlord for wanting more money when your whole merc team left its previous exactly cuz they wanted HIGHER sallaries
-No problems with the team spirit ? yeah why HoT left then ?
pretty poor try , u are trying to show SK in such a good light that it became in a way too artificial , especially after the drama with Deadman , I am more likely to believe Xlord than you
@ topic: why should they pay him more money? come on.. he is a overrated wannabe, thats all. he isnt moon to ask for more money. wake up kid and stop whining.
Europeans need to learn about direct debit then none of these money issues would ever arise. Talking about manners, age, or professionalism is just pointless, this is business and I can understand why he would be frustrated with SK's attitude.
