One of the world's biggest gaming organisations, Four Kings, entered a recent downslide with the loss of their Warcraft III squad. But to jump out from this downhill race they have got a new boost from Packard Bell.In the recent Packard Bell ET:QW (Enemy Territory: Quake Wars) EU Open tournament, the 4Kings ET squad attended in new shirts which didn't have Intel as sponsor on them, but they did have another big company's name.
This company is none other than Packard bell who have recently started to focus more on the global esports scene with not only providing ESWC with high end computers but making their own gaming division with a Call of Duty 4 and an RTS squad.
4Kings and Intel had been in partnership for around six years, since the 4K team won the Masters Gaming Championships back in 2002. The well known computer processing brand supported the gaming organisation in a number ways, and also helped bring esports the level of recognition it has now.
There are obviously a couple of big questions that will now arise from this news; will this stop 4K's downfall and the rumoured money problems, or will it just be a desperate step to improve their situation in the gaming scene; and what does this mean for Intel and their relationship with the gaming?
The shirts that have the new brand on them can be seen below in this picture taken by team-dignitas.org:
