This is the first match of the season for SK Gaming. After the EPS Finals from December when SK managed to win the first place again, there were some changes into the team structure. With the departure of Flo, Nils 'niLssoN' Nolting and the team manager Kaddy, SK tried to find some good replacements for them. The addition of Jannik 'Era' Huber as a player and taylor as a team manager gave to the team the opportunity to play in a more solid group.

Probably most of you will ask: "Who are Hardware4u?" Behind a new name, there are some old players, with some history on the German eSport scene. Probably as Stavros "rEdniCk" Iassonidis said to SK Gaming, h4u are seen as underdogs for this first match, as an old proverb said: "If you don't have anything, then you've got nothing to lose, right?"

Statement from Mario "mario" Viska (SK Gaming):



"Finally we are here. The EPS can start and on the first match day we gonna meet the guys from Team-Hardware4u.
The first match day is always the worst and it doesn't matter who our opponent is, since we don't know how far our preparation was enough. So we will practice even more and drive home with 3 points in our bag.

I think the team around RiVaLd1nh0 is a good and compact Team, which surely will place somewhere in the midfield at the end of the season. It is a good mixture of young and old players and out of their statement, you can see how highly motivated they are and that they are good prepared as well.
However we will go into this match with our Motto: “SK Gaming fights and wins!”
Our last season went out quite well with winning 10 matches in a row. With those 10 wins we even got an ESL award. We made a good work during this season and played compact. At the finals we could fight back from the lower bracket and were able to get the fourth title in a row and also in our player based matches we were quite unbeatable.

We want to continue were we stopped in the last season and are starting the new season highly motivated to get the fifth title. It won't be easy with the new version but we are accepting this challenge and want to play a good season in the player based tournaments as well.
My personal goal this year, is to get the fifth and sixth title with SK-Gaming and also getting the title back in the 1on1 EPS Alpen.

At the upcoming SEC in Hannover I am also aiming to get a place in the top3 and qualifying for these years WCG in Cologne.

So let's get together and start the SK domination tour 2008.

Statement from Stavros "rEdniCk" Iassonidis (Team Hardware4u):



"The match against SK is if you ask us, the easiest of the whole season. Everyone expects a loss from us, so we have absolutely no pressure. But we want to make a sensation in this match and send SK back home with a loss.

This isn't so impossible because we were able to practise quite good and will go highly motivated into this match. Our aim this season, is to avoid the relegation, this means we need to place within the top 10. The first stone would be pushed away on our way to our goal by taking a win home against the unbeatable team of SK Gaming."
