So, what is Nosgoth? For those of you who have not heard this name before we will go way back to 1996. Nosgoth is the name of the fictional world in the Legacy of Kain series. It is a dark and grim place, where vampires and humans have been locked in battle for years and the bloody conflict seems never-ending. Over the span of 5 games (Blood Omen 1 & 2, Soul Reaver 1 & 2, Defiance) the Legacy of Kain series painted the story of a vicious aristocrat-turned-vampire, Kain, who seeks revenge on those who have turned him into a gruesome beast. After a chain of interesting events, Kain eventually rises to the throne of Nosgoth. This is where you come in!
Although the series offers quite an interesting story, it is by no means necessary to play Nosgoth. Set in its own distinct era of the Legacy of Kain timeline, the game offers the chance to join the struggle between vampires and humans on a large scale and bring victory to the faction you swear allegiance to!
Recommended requirements: Windows 7 or higher, 2.0 GHz+ multi-core, 8 GB RAM, Nvidia 260 Series or ATI 5850 or higher, 4 GB HDD.
As stated earlier, Nosgoth is a free-to-play team third-person action, which welcomes all players joining the struggle. While still in closed beta, a lot of content is available out there such as a very rich FAQ section, daily blog updates from the development team, media section, closed beta registration link and a very lively forum where all your questions about the game will be answered. All in just one click at www.nosgoth.com
At the moment, Nosgoth has seven playable classes, divided into two main categories. Once you enter the game, you will immediately be immersed in the conflict as you will be “thrown” in battle as a participant on one of the sides. Below you will find an overview of all the classes available at the moment. Keep in mind that only two per faction can be played at the start, as more classes and game modes will be unlocked through progress in game.
Should you find yourself side-by-side with blood-driven predators, here is what to expect. The Reaver from Clan Dumahim, the Tyrant from Clan Turelim, the Sentinel from Clan Razielim and the Deceiver from Clan Zephonim - each of these offers an unique experience if chosen. While the Reaver class excels in the silent dispatching of a human group, the Tyrant would definitely prefer to engage them head-on and mercilessly bring them to their end.
On the other side of the conflict we have the Humans. Many ages ago they waged an unsuccessful war against the vampire race, a war which almost brought them to extinction. Now the human race is back and can use all the help in the struggle against their hated enemy. The classes available here are Scout, Alchemist and Hunter. Just as before each of them will have a distinct play style. While the Alchemists thrive by using area of effect bombs and transformative concoctions, the Scouts prefer to deal with the enemy threat from a distance using two arrows to the back. It is also good to keep in mind that the title is still in closed beta, meaning that new classes are being developed, tested and polished as we speak!
Last, but not least, a couple of words about the developers. For over ten years the people from Psyonix have been working on various projects and have brought results to the table. Starting from simply a modification to Unreal Tournament, the studio went on to work on projects such as Gears of War, Unreal Tournament 3 and Mass Effect 3, titles which are familiar to every gamer out there.
I hope you enjoyed our introductory article on Nosgoth! I urge you to follow us as there is definitely more to come! Next time, I will go into detail about the first steps into the world of Nosgoth, account creation, first battles and much more. In the meantime, feel free to visit the official website of the game www.nosgoth.com for more information or to register for the closed beta. Also, any feedback to the lovely people at Psyonix is more than welcome! What are you waiting for?
“Hundreds of years of conflict and hatred. Each race pitted against each other. For supremacy, for survival. This is the war for Nosgoth!”

SK-Gaming - League of Legends Lead Editor: 11.2012 - 08.2015
My journey into eSports started in 2004 when I accidentally caught a small video on TV from the WarCraft 3 WCG 2004 final. I opened up the SK Gaming website from my father's laptop and never stopped reading to this day. In early 2010 I started writing at a Bulgarian news website simply because I disliked how the current editor was handling his job and with time, I got to be Editor-In-Chief. My main writing interests back then were StarCraft 2, QuakeLive and League of Legends.
Fast-forward to 2012, after a small hiatus and moving to England to attend university, I decided to start writing news posts again, inspired by a couple of industry figures who have taken their turns taking eSports writing to a new level. With the beginning of IPL5, I was given a trial with SK Gaming which was successful and I never looked back.
In early 2014, onGamers presented me with an incredible opportunity to join their ranks which I took. Although I believe my 2014 was rather poor (in terms of work ethic and results), I have made changes during the winter break to ensure that sufficient effort will be made to repair that. Unfortunately, due to the collapse of the team, the project was at a stand still which marked the end of my stint with the oG crew.
I continued producing 1 on 1 interviews with SK members until July 2015. After that, other commitments arose and I figured I could not provide the flow of content I promised my superiors and took a step back, leaving SK.
If you are an eSports fan who is looking to get into writing or simply want to chat about eSports across the years, you can always find me on my twitter - @Adddler . Below you can find some trivia about me.
