Lyn to kick off AWL season 3

ImageThe third season of the Afreeca Warcraft III League will kick off tomorrow with June "SK.Lyn" Park and Believe going head-to-head in the opening match.

The reigning champion June "SK|Lyn" Park has been in a perfect shape since the end of the Professional Gaming League Warcraft III Season 2.

Without losing a single match in all three playdays in the current WC3L season, he and his teammates raise SK to the height of dream start with 3/0 and 14/0 on top. Aside from his good run in clanwars, he captured the champion title in the Afreeca Warcraft III League second season where he reigned supreme over his younger Korean Orc brother Hyo Sub "MYM.FoCuS" Eom.

His opponent Esue)Believe is an upcoming Undead player in the country of Undead. There are few fresh faces coming up in Korea in recent years. He is one of them. After conquering his Undead senior Choi “MyOnlyStar” Won in his first AWL’s qualification, he was drawn into the group where no one believed he could go through. Seong Deok "SK|SoJu" Lee and Jae Ho "MYM]Moon" Jang were the clear favourites. However, thanks to Jae Ho "MYM]Moon" Jang not participating, he managed to seize the last spot over Dae Duck “Go.Kei” Yoon and qualified alongside SoJu.

The map for this game will be Echo Isles which is slightly in favour of Undead because it is pretty compact and there are only two additional gold mines. Lyn played the second game on this map against Samuli “hoorai.elfitajja” Sihvonen yesterday in the WC3L match. Elfitajja got the upper hand in middle game by successfully delaying Lyn's tier2 buildings, killed some of his burrows and kept him with little lumber for quite a while. Playing on the same map against the same race only two days later, Lyn needs to show how he earns a 75% win ratio against Undead tomorrow.

The match is due to start at 11:00 CET and you can follow it through our Lyn vs Believe coverage.
