Steam platform reaches 15 million accounts
Valve has reported that the Steam® platform reached the 15 million accounts limit.

Valve has reported that the Steam® platform reached the 15 million accounts limit.Steam® is now the world's leading platform for PC Games and digital entertainment as the platform got a 158% percent sales growth, year-over-year.
The past year featured other wonders, as the Steam Community concept debuted and best-selling products: Call of Duty 4, The Orange Box and Bioshock were launched, which helped to reach this marvelous number of accounts.
The 2008
The current year will kick off with Valve's newest game product, Left 4 Dead. They will also announce new Steam Community features as well as Steamworks, which gives game developers an access to game features and other services available at Steam platform.
"PC gaming is thriving, and has evolved into an era of constant connectivity," says Gabe Newell at the official press release.
"That connectivity gives us the ability to have a much better relationship with customers, not just for delivering our games, but across all aspects of our business - including the design, development, and support of our games."

and if you count in people who have multiple accounts, then you also have to count in accounts that are being shared, like internet cafe accounts.
I think that this number is pretty accurate.
They've separate licenses for every computer, and the last figure I saw (for the UK LAN scene anyway - I'll see if I can find a link) said most accounts were only being used 30% of the time. South Korea might be able to fill their LAN centres 24/7, but most 'normal' countries can't.

They should just start producing fancy features for their software.. and i'll be all happy =)
HAHA, remember back in 2002-2003 when steam was new, and everyone complained about down times and time to get new updates.. they've got quite far!
its just a shame that each active user have min.2 acc + there are much accounts outside who never be activated.
