PGS Gaming, the winners of the WCG 06, Extreme Masters 07 and ESWC 07 in Counter-Strike, will no longer support CS.

"We no longer plan to invest into Counter-Strike," said PGS Head Manager Marcin "Darky" Sieczkowski in an interview with SK. "You could say that we achieved everything that was possible in the game."

PGS Gaming originated as a Counter-Strike and Warcraft 3 team in 2004 under the name Pentagram ConneXion. It owes much of its organisational success to the success of its flagship Counter-Strike team, especially after their winning performance at the World Cyber Games in 2006. PGS won several events afterwards and received the Team of the Year eSports Award. Several weeks ago the CS players were released from the team and joined Meet Your Makers.

The decision to forgo CS may come from the fact that it would be difficult to build a new team of Polish players that would be able to emulate at least some of the success of the previous squad. The other reasons are that PGS's main focus is the Polish esports market where they have the strongest squads in several games.

PGS Gaming currently has teams for Warcraft 3, FIFA 08, Call of Duty 4 and Need For Speed.
