Tasteless to cast star-studded Korean event

The Xnote Star Invitational, a Korean tournament with an amazing lineup of players including BoxeR, sAviOr, NaDa and Bisu, will broadcasted in English by Tasteless in the last weeks of February.

GomTV has signed Nick "Tasteless" Plott, one of the world’s best shoutcasters and the best English-speaking shoutcaster for StarCraft, to provide English commentaries for the Xnote Star invitational. Among other events, Tasteless has shoutcasted the World Cyber Games finals and built up a large fan base around the world. The American was recently contracted to work in Korea for a year as a broadcater for StarCraft and Warcraft 3.

GomTV's Xnote Star Invitational is an opening tournament for their newly-created pro-gaming channel. There are 16 announced players who have proven themselves to be the best or highly seeded in the KeSPA ranking. The list of invitees includes the legendary Lim "BoxeR" Yo Hwan, the Golden Mouse award winner Lee "NaDa" Yoon Yeol, the highest-ranked professional players Kim "Bisu" Taek Yong and Lee "Jaedong" Jae Dong, the 2007 WCG Korea bronze medalist Ma Jae "sAviOr" Yoon and many other players.

The tournament will start on February 17 with group play and will follow up with single elimination with a final match on March 1. You can follow the tournament via our coverage.

Tasteless will be doing approximately 28 hours of SC casting for this month, streamed over the Internet and released as VODs. To watch the matches you have to download and install the GomTV player which is similar to the GGclient. A guide how to set it up can be found here.

The GOM TV Star Invitational tournament goes into the quarterfinals on Monday. The matches of eight of the world's best StarCraft players will be streamed live with English commentary starting with 10:00 CET.

The 17 year old Korean Starcraft star Sea, gave Bisu a hard time and punished him in the very first game, but even that couldn’t stop this mighty Protoss to advance in the play-offs.

Day three is over; the WCG 2007 title holder Stork did as expected and qualified for the playoffs.
