ESWC releases the ruleset for all games

ImageToday the ESWC regulation committee announced the rules for all of their games at ESWC.

The Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) has released their rules for their official tournament games in 2008 - Defence of the Ancients (DotA), Counter-strike 1.6, Warcraft III, Quake3 and Trackmania Nations.

Most of these games have the same rules as everywhere else and their communities don’t expect anything to change in them, but one community will face some unused rules for its game - DotA.

Almost every person in this community wanted to know what the rules would be like and now we can have a look at them. Most of these rules have been used in the competitive scene for a while, but there are some rather interesting rules, which might bring different opinions between DotA players.

Here are some of the interesting rules:

'Backdooring is allowed. However a player can not use any form of teleport (Furion teleport, ignitus fatus or boots of travel) to enter an enemy base unless his creeps are already present in it.'

'It is not allowed to trap enemy in trees intentionally.'

Also Counter-strike won't be using de_cbble as an official map anymore and will be replaced by de_tuscan.

ESWC rulesets:
Quake 3
DotA
TMN
Warcraft III
Counter-strike
