TGL announces their decision to remove the entry fee from their DotA Ballers league to cope with the low number of signups. As announced at thegl.eu, the entry fee from their DotA Ballers league was removed due to the 'obvious lack of interest from community to play on professional level'. The DotA Ballers league was announced with a 2000 USD prize, unlimited rooms and an entry fee of 50 USD per team with the eighty percent of that sum being added to the prize purse.
Apparently close to zero teams registered so far and that would explain TGL's decision and disappointment. The prize will however remain unchanged while the slots were reduced to 32 teams, selected by the referees committee from the applications that they will receive in the period from 17th - 31st of January.
The entry fee was probably a nuisance despite being a reasonable cost; we should now expect a regular number of sign-ups and possibly a new opportunity for the DotA teams.

"17th - 31st of January."
and also , with your entry fee you guarantee nothing, other than taking 20% from it...
