One of the biggest leaders in worldwide sports coverage, ESPN, will now be moving into the E-Sports sector, with dedicated coverage for MLG competitions.ESPN and Major League Gaming (MLG) have today announced a partnership that has pushed E-Sports one step further to becoming a fully recognized sport, as ESPN will soon be providing online coverage of the MLG's 2008 Pro Circuit competitions; including news, streamed matches, interviews and match scores via their website – ESPN.com
"ESPN will be on site at each of the 2008 MLG Pro Circuit Competitions, reporting news from its own coverage booth for various ESPN programs and platforms." Says a press release on MLG's website. "Additionally, ESPN.com will launch a competitive video gaming section replete with all of the latest news, information and video as it relates to competitive gaming."

The new MLG section has been added to ESPN's already extravagant video games domain, ESPNVideogames.com, that contains reviews, cheats, teasers and rankings of current games on the market.
This move will surely have a huge impact on the way E-Sport is viewed by people who are currently unattached or unaware that this industry exists, and will help push for further recognition from big brand names and businesses.

I'll tell you what though, I sure don't want to have to compete with them.
News, reviews, cheats and so on ON ANOTHER PAGE will actually give us hmm, nothing? I can find the stuff I need on the pages that we already have.
The step that will make waves fosho would be showing e-sport on ESPN - streamed matches and so on. Tho, I seriously doubt that some1 is arsed to watch MLG.
CONSOLES HELLOOO
Of course it is logical that gotfrag will be used for content on espn seeing that the staff at gotfrag will know more about the tournaments and players than the regular espn writers.
Nevertheless a great step for all of esports which will get some much needed exposure to the masses.
