Former professional gamer, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier won $2,000,000 for first place in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure on Thursday.

The event had 1,136 participants and a prize pot of $8,594,976. Winning PCA is ElkY's most valuable victory since he turned to poker from StarCraft.

ElkY is known in esports as one of the first players to have gone to Korea to play full time. He did so after winning a silver medal at the 2001 World Cyber Games, losing to the legendary Lim "SlayerS`BoxeR" Yo-Hwan in the grand final. He turned to poker soon after ending his StarCraft career.

Next to former Quake 3 professional Oskar "LakermaN" Ljungstrom, ElkY is probably the most famous gamer to have turned to professional poker. With $2,000,000 in the bank, he is officially the richest one, although rumours about the amounts LakermaN made by playing on the internet suggest otherwise.

Interestingly, Hafiz Khan, the runner up of the PCA event was awarded $1,094,976 for second place.
