Ron "Rambo" Kim, compLexity's Counter-Strike player has published eBook about Counter-Strike 1.6, which consists more than 200 pages. The book is created in co-operation with Ognian "steel" Gueorguiev and Duncan "Thorin" Shields.The Art of Counter-Strike digital book holds more than 200 pages worth of text inside, plus 50 minutes of video footages. Book's idea is to show the readers the world of Counter-Strike 1.6.
This is "the most extensive study of competitive Counter-Strike ever undertaken", as said at their official website.
More closely Kim, Gueorguiev and Shields guide you how to handle weapons, different game situations and give the basics of maps and training. This is salted with fifty (50) minutes of video footages. In short, every aspect of Counter-Strike 1.6 is explained.

But there are some people who feel really good by winning matches and events, I am one of those guys, and if investing time in something, in order to be the very best at it [could be work, hobby, your gf, anything] means you are a geek, than the entire world is full of geeks, and you are a geek yourself also :)
- personally I didnt buy the book, but thats not because im not intrested in it, im sure that even a player who plays from the very first day will learn from it.
