The qualification for the third season of AWL has started.
The Afreeca Warcraft League (AWL) is now running its second season with most well known Korean players participating. All four of our Korean players also took part in this rapid growing Warcraft league in Korea. While the quarter-final has just kicked off yesterday, the qualification for the third season has been scheduled.
The entire qualification consists of two parts. 24 players will play a best of three match against their opponent in the first part of the qualification.
Here is the match ups for the first qualification:

12 winners of each matchup and players from fifth place to 16th place in the current season will go to the second part of the entire qualification. These players will form six groups and the best two players of each group will qualify for the third season of AWL. The best four players in the second season will qualify for the next regular season automatically.
But there is one more thing. Though the third season will still consist of Korean players only, the AWL committee claims that they will invite both European and Chinese players to their fourth season. We can therefore expect a comeback of Warcraft III in Korea. Stay tuned for more information regarding to AWL.
