The World of Warcraft arena ranking on SK-Gaming.com have been updated with a very nice feature which allows you to check out the most popular and successful setups in each ladder. The SK Gaming Priest Mike "Mykke" Harrison gives us a brief guide on the most popular setups. The SK Arena ranking is something very unique, and much more enhancements are still in progress, but the latest addition ranks the five most popular and five most successful setups in the three different brackets.
2vs2
SK|Mykke: Far and away the most popular comp in 2’s is the Arms Warrior/Restoration Druid. It usually involves large amounts of pillar humping by the druid combined with efficient instant heals. A Warrior can stick on a target well, but is prone to crowd control abilities (this makes Druid the ideal healer, followed by the Paladin). Druid CC’s are used to control potentially high damage classes such as warrior/rogue, or to coordinate a kill.
3vs3
SK|Mykke: HARP Rogue/Ice Mage/Disc Priest is undoubtedly the most common 3’s team at this time. An already popular (and quite effective) comp pre rogue/priest buff, instantly became one of the strongest teams at this time. This is due to the large amounts of damage a rogue can put out while being extremely difficult to kite/cc with his cooldowns up. The Priest presents the offensive and defensive dispelling to maximize damage output. In addition Mage/Priest synergy went up a hundred fold with the discipline changes. Enemy’s will be hard pressed to live through 2 adrenaline rushes, power infusion, and the huge amounts of cc this comp is capable of putting out.
5vs5
SK|Mykke: Warrior/Paladin/Priest forms the base of almost every balanced 5’s team, normally they are accompanied by Warlock/Shaman, Mage/Shaman, or Warlock/Hunter. When accompanied by the Warlock/Hunter the team becomes an effective mana drain comp while still maintaining good damage/burst potential. The Shaman make ups (Warlock/Shaman Mage/Shaman) provide high damage/burst potential due especially to the bloodlust/pi synergy.
